Next Core Curriculum takes place September 10-11 online!

The Cannabis Core program is a 12-hour educational program that provides an overview of the cannabis industry in MA and is for people looking for general knowledge as they consider a cannabis career. During four, three-hour sessions, students will interact with cannabis experts and guest speakers in reviews of the plant, various cannabis products, the endocannabinoid system, laws and prohibition, growing and plant care, labeling, packaging, testing, employment considerations, and more. This is a foundational course and is a prerequisite for the career track courses. Classes will be conducted over Zoom and/or in person at Holyoke Community College.

Students will receive a certificate of hours completed, and will then be eligible to register for a semester course in one of the following career tracks:

Cultivation Assistant

• Section I
• Time:   4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.
• Dates: Sept 18 & 25 • Oct 2 & 9
• (Classes are remote)

Cultivation Assistant

• Section II
• Time:   4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.
• Nov 27 • Dec. 4, 11, & 18
  (Classes are remote)

Extraction Technician

• Time:  10-11:30 a.m.
• Dates: Oct 15, 22, & 29 • Nov 5
• (Classes are remote)

Patient Services Associate/Retail/Budtender

• Time:  10 a.m. -1 p.m.
• Dates: Nov 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, & 20
  (Classes are remote)

Culinary Assistant

• Time:   6 – 9 p.m.
• Dates: Oct 18, 20,  25, & 27 • Nov 1 & 3
• (Classes are in-person)
